Our monthly think + drink / science program transforms The Planetarium into a forum of discussion where you can grab a beer, glass of wine or a soft drink and learn about science in a relaxed, informal setting. The day’s expert gives a short presentation then opens the floor for questions and discussion.
- $5 for eligible members of the Discovery Society; $8 for all others.
- Reservations strongly encouraged.
- Seating: Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis; please arrive promptly. Pre-purchased program seats will be held until 5 minutes prior to program start time ONLY, at which time they may be released for re-sale (no refunds or exchanges will be given after the start of the program).
July 10: To the Moon and Back – The Legacy of Apollo 11. Gary Dahlke, an eighteen-year veteran of NASA’s Space Shuttle program, has worked in the aerospace industry and has received awards for his work on the Titan IV rocket program and the Space Shuttle’s solid rocket boosters. He’s authored technical papers and textbooks and in 2015 won the prestigious “NASA Inspire” award for his work sharing the story of space exploration with student and community groups throughout the southeastern United States.
