National Fossil Day is officially recognized on October 15, but The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature is celebrating a little early! Join us on Saturday, October 11, for a full day of fossil fun included with your Museum admission.

Visit The Bishop’s Florida Fossil Table, where our team will showcase specimens from the Museum’s collections. This year’s focus highlights the Ice Age and introduces new specimens that bring prehistoric Florida to life.
Hands-On Family Activities
- Backyard Science: What exactly is a fossil? Learn the science behind these ancient treasures and take part in a hands-on craft
- Fossil Scavenger Hunt: Embark on a scavenger hunt throughout the Museum’s exhibits. Complete your adventure for a chance to receive a Florida fossil giveaway.
Special Presentations and Tours
- Specialized 20-minute tours are offered and are free with admission, providing a deeper look at our fossil exhibits.
- Guest Educators: Paleo Analysis (YouTube): Meet educators from the YouTube channel Paleo Analysis for drop-in demos, show-and-tell, and Q&A about fossil identification, preparation, and paleontology in the field.
