TICKETS
- Online tickets are valid for one-day admission and will expire one year from the date purchased if not used. (Admission may only be used ONCE.)
- You will not be charged tax or other fees on your purchase.
- Admission tickets are for general daily admission only and are not valid toward group admissions, special tours, programs, events or experiences that have a separate fee.
- Admission tickets cannot be applied towards the purchase of merchandise or special event tickets.
- Admission tickets can be applied toward a membership in the Discovery Society (membership must be purchased within one week of the admission ticket).
- Tickets to The Bishop include all-day access to open galleries, including special exhibitions, the Mosaic Backyard Universe, the Parker Manatee Rehabilitation Habitat, and The Planetarium.
DISCOUNTS
- Coupons and promotional offers may not be combined with any other discounts.
- The Bishop participates in several special discount programs, including Blue Star Museums for Military Families, the Bank of America Museums on Us program, and the Museums for All program.
- Admission to the Museum is always free for Florida teachers, Active duty members of the U.S. military, and U.S. military veterans receive free admission during the month of November.
- Please arrive at least 5–10 minutes prior to showtime. We recommend arriving early so you have time to settle payment, use the restroom, and get your group seated. Doors close and lock at the start of the show, and late entry is not permitted once a performance has begun.
- Seating is first-come, first-served, and we cannot guarantee seating on busy days.
- For safety reasons, all guests must remain seated for the duration of the show. If you leave the Planetarium during the presentation, re-entry is not permitted.
- Food, beverages, smoking, and vaping are not permitted inside the Museum or Planetarium. Water is allowed.
- Please keep in mind that the use of cell phones is strongly discouraged, as bright screens can be distracting in the darkened environment.
- Photography and video recording of the dome are not permitted during planetarium shows, except for Eyes on the Sky Live and KIDSPACE Live.
- Because of the dome shape of the Planetarium, sound carries easily, so we ask that you please keep noise to a minimum during the show.
- As a matter of courtesy to other guests, please do not place your feet on the seats in front of you.
- If anyone in your group requires special accommodation, please let our staff know ahead of time so we can assist you.
- Wheelchairs and Strollers
Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome in the Planetarium at The Bishop. The floor leading into the theater is flat, with no inclines or stairs. Accessible parking and seating are available in the front row. - Service Animals
Service animals are welcome at the Planetarium at The Bishop. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to perform tasks for an individual with a disability. Pets are not permitted. - Assisted Listening Devices
The Planetarium at The Bishop provides assisted listening devices free of charge for guests who may need support hearing shows and presentations, on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests can request these devices at the Admissions Front Desk. - Closed Captions
Closed captions are not available for our live planetarium shows.
Closed captions for our pre-recorded shows are currently available for the following program: Firefall. Our staff is working to add closed captions to more shows.
Location & Parking Information
The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature is conveniently located at 201 10th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34205.
We are just 20 minutes north of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and 45 minutes south of Tampa International Airport.
Free street parking is available on 10th Street West in front of The Bishop for up to 3 hours at a time. There are also several parking locations available in downtown Bradenton convenient to the Museum, including the parking garage at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 10th Street West, and the Manatee County parking garage at the corner of Manatee Avenue and 10th Street West.
During Your Visit
- Food and beverages are not permitted in the Museum. Water fountains are located throughout the first floor. Visitors are welcome to enjoy lunch or snacks in the courtyard or at the picnic tables in front of the main entrance as long as they clean up after themselves, but nothing should be consumed inside. The Bishop is conveniently located walking distance from Main Street in Downtown Bradenton where several local restaurants and eateries are located.
- Bathrooms are available throughout the Museum.
- An elevator is available. We ask that one group use it at a time.
