The South Florida Museum said a fond farewell to Tannebaum the manatee on Nov. 5 as he returned to the wild 11 months after an entanglement in dock line nearly severed his tail. Snooty's personality and charm gave face to the plight of wild, endangered manatees. He was also the spark that led The Bishop to join the Manatee Rehabilitation Partnership in 1998 and take an active role in rehabilitating sick or injured manatees so they could be returned to the wild.
