The South Florida Museum said a fond farewell to Tannebaum the manatee on Nov. 5 as he returned to the wild 11 months after an entanglement in dock line nearly severed his tail. December will mark the 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 8 -- the first manned mission to orbit the moon. The Museum is unveiling its brand-new app designed to connect visitors to the objects in its collection and the many stories they have to tell. The South Florida Museum has created a new exhibit in the Aquarium that shows the ecosystem connections that manatees and sea turtles share and highlights how the public can help sea turtles -- which are federally listed as threatened or endangered species -- grow from egg to adulthood.
